Biography

Andreja Eržen (1969, Ljubljana) is an academically trained painter who graduated in painting and art theory from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana in 2009 under Prof. Franc Novinc and Dr Jožef Muhovič. Her practice encompasses painting, drawing, printmaking, graphic design, and environmental and light installations, often intervening in public space. More recently, she has focused on kinetic objects, using pinwheels to create constantly changing visual compositions that raise questions of perception and transience. A member of the Union of Slovenian Fine Artists Associations, she regularly participates in solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. She has received several professional distinctions, including awards at the International Fine Arts Festival Kranj (2013, 2015) and the ROGLight design award (2017). An independent cultural professional, she teaches art courses and lives and works in Kranj.
