Damir Facan-Grdiša

Damir Facan-Grdiša was born in Zagreb in 1965. He began his artistic education at the School of Applied Arts, specialising in wall-painting techniques. In 1990, he graduated from the Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in Prof. Ivo Friščić's class. Until 1998, he taught vocational art subjects at the Crafts School in Zagreb; since then, he has worked as an independent artist, exhibited and published illustrations with several publishers. He is a member of HDLU, ULUPUH and, since 2002, HZSU. Alongside painting, he has collaborated externally with the Croatian Restoration Institute since 1986 and has worked as an independent licensed wall-painting restorer since 2000.
