Franc Vozelj

Franc Vozelj is an academically trained painter working in painting and design. After design school, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, graduating in painting in 1979 and completing postgraduate studies under Janez Bernik in 1981. He has held over 80 solo exhibitions at home and abroad and participated in more than 100 group exhibitions. In 1999, he received the City of Kranj's Grand Prešeren Plaque. The human figure and still life are central to his oeuvre. His figurative painting develops in dialogue with modernist approaches and expressionist precedents, exploring the relationship between sculptural form, painterly expression and depth of meaning. A member of the Slovenian Fine Artists Society (DSLU) since 1980, he lives and works in Kranj as an independent artist.
