Janez Pelko

I work in contemporary art photography, exploring relationships between images, memory and narrative, often combining documentary and personal approaches. My practice centres on long-term projects, developing visual stories marked by atmosphere and attention to detail. I investigate the space between reality and interpretation and how sequences of images create more complex meanings. I have held more than 40 solo exhibitions and participated in several dozen group exhibitions. I am a member of the Škofja Loka Artists Association.

I also participate in ex-tempore events, including the Ive Šubic Colony, ArtKum and Kreart. Previously, I collaborated with Gorenjski glas and occasionally other print media. More recently, I have focused on art photography, collaborated with musicians on album covers and promotional photographs, and taught photography workshops. I regularly publish reports in the online magazine https://novamuska.org/. I use various approaches and techniques, embracing digital technologies while remaining committed to black-and-white film in different formats.
