Biography
Kima Harutyunyan is a contemporary multimedia artist whose practice encompasses installation, collage, conceptual sculpture, and, more recently, performance. She approaches the human being as a complex, fragile, yet resilient system, exploring the invisible processes that shape experience—traces of memory, social roles, and the repetitive everyday actions of women.
In her work, the concept drives the choice of materials. She synthesizes tangible media such as clay, metal, leather, cardboard, and found objects, investigating both their physical presence and conceptual tension to create immersive, thought-provoking experiences.
Harutyunyan is the author of several cohesive projects, including Concept, Armenian Mosaic, Fragment, and Unwashable Structures. She has participated in numerous exhibitions and festivals in Armenia, Italy, Slovenia, South Korea, and England, and has held solo exhibitions in Yerevan and Slovenia. Trained at the College of Fine Art at the National Center of Aesthetics and a graduate of Moscow State University of Service with a degree in World Economics, her work reflects a conceptual and material rigor that bridges artistic practice and critical inquiry.
